darrian ford, “Loose Cotton Shirt” Review

“Loose Cotton Shirt,” featured on Episode #124 is a Ford original that features an effervescent Latin feel, seamlessly tied together with life advice lyrics, wrapped nicely in a bubbly melody. Ford has a soulful voice that is tinged with just the right amount of gospel prowess that makes for an engaging listen.  New Standards Ford’s first full-length self-released album, features a vocalist who can deliver the purest ballad, finesse the highest notes, and dig deeper for the bluest notes.  Known for his critically celebrated Sam Cooke tribute show The Cooke Book.  New Standards highlights Ford’s abilities not only as a song stylist, but a solid songwriter who deserves wider recognition.
