Modern Jazz Today Episode #133, this week we put a big focus on new releases for our new discoveries and unearthed gems, from emerging artists in today’s jazz idiom.
Drummer Reuben Spyker has a new album out Forward, and we focused on the title track as our focus for new discoveries. In the unearthed gems category; we took a new twist and kept our focus on another new release by avant-garde luminary Steve Coleman. His new album Live At The Village Vanguard Vol. I The Embedded Sets, is an exciting adventure through textural sounds and colors with a biting edge, we focused on the track “Horda.”
