Truth Against the World, The Andy Rothstein Band

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Guitarist Andy Rothstein first began playing guitar at age fourteen. Andy graduated from Rutgers University, where he majored in music and Computer Science. At Rutgers, Andy had the privilege of studying under the tutelage of both Kevin Eubanks and the late Ted Dunbar. In addition, he studied privately with both Steve Khan and Vinnie Zummo.
Andy has often been described as a versatile and tasteful player who has developed his unique voice on the guitar. Part of his unique sound can be attributed to the various electronic modifications he developed for electric guitars.
Some of Andy’s recording and performing credits include Rook, Mary’s Magnet, Tony Senatore (Holyland), country recording artist “Link,” The Prayer, One More Once, The Zoots, and numerous others. In addition, Andy has transcribed many guitar folios under the pen name Andy Robyns. Musical transcription credits for Hal Leonard Publishing include Pearl Jam (10), Alice in Chains (Dirt), Nirvana (Incesticide), Def Leppard (Adrenalize), and Kiss (Greatest Hits), to name just a few.
As a leader, Rothstein made his debut in 2006 with the album Voodoo Tone, featuring bassist Tony Senatore (Rook, Genya Raven), Trumpeter Steve Jankowski (Nile Rodgers & Chic, Chicago, Blood, Sweat, and Tears), Saxophonist Tom Timko (Miami Sound Machine, Blood Sweat and Tears, Toto), and drummer Lou Petto (One More Once). In 2010, he then teamed up with an all-star lineup of musicians for his next album, Wit of the Staircase, featuring Trumpeters Lew Soloff and Steve Jankowski, drummer Van Romaine (Steve Morse, Jack McDuff, Enrique Iglesias), Percussionist Manolo Badrena (Weather Report, Steve Khan, Spyro Gyra), Saxophonists Andy Snitzer (Billy Joel, Paul Simon, The Rolling Stones), and Tom Timko, and Keyboardists Pete Levin and Tom Hammer.
