Gilad Hekselman, “V-Blues” Review

Guitarist and composer Gilad Hekselman brings fluent playing in combination with complexity and musical taste on his new album ASK FOR CHAOS. This is Hekselman’s sixth album and he continues to demonstrate his unique melodic, rhythmic, and harmonic expertise. For ASK FOR CHAOS, he records with his two touring bands on various tracks – his acoustic-based gHex Trio, and his electric-leaning ZuperOctave. The result is his most compelling and innovative sound to date. Modern Jazz Today will be featuring a track from the ZuperOctave group, “VBlues” on Episode #128.
