Firmly rooted in jazz, fed with a steady diet of blues, and dedicated to the art of song, JOSE ‘JUICY’ GONZALES TRIO offers a fresh take on standards, joyfully flirting with pop, funk, and R&B. Whether leading his piano trio, or fronting a vocalist, his performances are always special. We are playing “Linus and Lucy” on Episode #150 from Gonzales’ album Linus and Juicy- A Holiday Album. “Linus and Lucy” was released in 1964 on the Vince Guaraldi Trio’s album Jazz Impressions of a Boy Named Charlie Brown. One of the most recognizable pieces by Guaraldi, Gonzales and his trio capture the essence of the original with a little extra touch of today.

“Gonzales brings us a joyous version of this classic, he adds cheer for us to enjoy in his interpretation and his embellishments.”
– Jeff Williams, Modern Jazz Today
